According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, self-love is the “proper regard for and attention to one’s own happiness or well-being.” To break this down further, self-love begins with self-awareness. When we are aware of ourselves, our needs and our happiness, we can prioritize certain actions that reinforce taking care of those needs.
Think of self-love as building blocks, with the foundation as your basic needs, such as food and shelter. Then build out what makes you feel happy and taken care of from there.
Instead of looking outside of ourselves for love, we need to look in. This is why it’s called self-love. The importance of self-love is vital to becoming the unique human being that you are. You have everything you need within yourself to find true happiness, you just need to give it the love and respect it deserves.
We are all children of the universe, created out of love. We are all equal. We accept and love other people, animals, nature, all that comes from mother earth, as we do. What matters is our soul. We are all worthy of self-love, yet some question it or don’t understand how.
Self-love is the act of honoring and respecting oneself with unconditional love. It is to accept ourselves for all that we are. To be grateful to the universe that created us. Each human being has a purpose to be on this earth. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.
If we truly love ourselves, it doesn’t matter what car we drive, or clothes we wear. These are simply material goods that are empty. We do not need to be the best looking, most talented, or have the most possessions. We accept ourselves fully just as we are. We do not look outside of ourselves for validation. When we love ourselves enough, we do not allow others to take advantage of us. We stand in our power. We set crystal clear boundaries. When we love ourselves, we are able to give love freely to others without fear of being hurt or used. When we are secure within ourselves, we attract the love of others we deserve.
Over the next 90-days myself, along with our Conscious Mentors will be sharing personal experiences, concepts, and ideas, as well as tried and true methods, services and products to help you on your journey of loving yourself.
Each week you will be given an activity to do to get to know yourself better. When we know ourselves and understand ourselves better, we are better equipped to embrace self-love.
This program will take a holistic approach, which focuses on a whole person’s well-being and not illness or condition. We will be providing information and support which includes physical, emotional, social and spiritual wellbeing.
Each of you will have different needs and experiences that is influenced by your age, gender, culture, heritage, language, faith, sexual and gender identity, relationship status, life experiences and beliefs.
It is important for you to not expect that situations and outcomes will be the same as others because after all, we are individual beings.
I invite you to consider wellness as a lifestyle choice that eventually brings you full circle to a healthier and happier you. Learn to compliment and praise yourself, just as you would a friend, family member, or lover.

Use the next 90-days as a holistic model towards a more balanced, healthier and happier YOU.
Open your mind and change your thinking. If you’re in a funk where your thoughts are neither encouraging or motivating that means you are probably not actively cultivating positive and empowering thoughts. So find a ‘buddy’ for your thoughts. This could be watching videos, reading books, watching movies, and talking to people who will guide you with positive, empowering thinking. When positive thoughts are all around you, you will be able to receive them, absorb them, and eventually cultivate them yourself. [read more on mindset]
Your Holistic Health Inventory will act as a compass that can guide you toward a more honest relationship with the different areas of your life. Once you have identified the areas you want to focus on to experience balanced living, get in touch with any of the Conscious Mentors and begin to put specific goals towards each area and with their help, put them into action and work towards positive outcomes.
Life is not about being in perfect balance all the time. We are in a constant state of
flux and change and growth. Balanced living is about noticing which area feels
blocked or off from time to time and to engage in acts that can help bring us closer to
harmony and self love.
